Your bank statement against your books, with matches already suggested.
You paste in the transactions from your bank statement and Containn suggests matches by amount and date: money going out against supplier payments, and money coming in against OTA payouts. You confirm. Anything that matches nothing is recorded as an expense, with its journal entry.
How it works
Add your accounts
The hotel’s bank accounts.
Paste in the bank statement
The period’s transactions: date, description and amount.
Confirm the matches
Supplier payments and OTA payouts suggested by amount and date; you decide.
Check the tie-out
Balance per bank against balance per books.
What’s included
- Setup of the hotel’s bank accounts.
- Import of bank statement transactions, pasted in as date, description and amount.
- Reconciliation suggestions by amount and date: money going out against supplier payments, and money coming in against OTA payouts. You confirm.
- Reconcile, unreconcile and ignore a transaction, each action logged.
- Record a bank transaction directly as an expense, with its journal entry, when it doesn’t match anything already entered.
- Account tie-out: balance per bank against balance per books.
The limit
There’s no automatic bank feed: transactions are pasted in from the bank statement. And the suggestions cover supplier payments and OTA payouts; everything else is reconciled by hand. When that changes, we’ll say so here.

Does Containn connect directly to my bank?
No. Transactions are pasted in from the bank statement. A direct connection is under evaluation.
What do I do with a bank fee nobody entered?
Record it as an expense right from the transaction, and it gets its journal entry.
Start with yesterday.
If your hotel already signs off on its night audit, Containn can post yesterday today. The chart of accounts is set up in one step, the transaction code mapping is done once, and from then on every signed-off day becomes a journal entry.
