Containn shows you the income statement and the balance sheet from the same books your accountant works on, through the last signed day. It does not depend on someone finishing data entry or on a side spreadsheet.
What to read
- Estados financieros → Estado de resultados (income statement): revenue, cost of sales, operating expenses and comprehensive financing result, with gross, operating and net income. Choose Solo el mes (month only) or Del año a la fecha (year to date).
- Balance general (balance sheet) at the end of the selected month: assets, liabilities and equity, with the current-year result. The Cuadra (balances) chip confirms assets equal liabilities plus equity; if not, it shows the difference.
- Balanza de comprobación (trial balance), if you want to go account by account; one click opens that account's movements.
- Cierre de mes (month-end close): which months are closed, when and by whom.
The current month includes the signed days and the pólizas (Mexican journal entries) your accountant has already entered. If payroll or a vendor invoice has not been recorded yet, results look better than they are.
What to watch
- Who signs each day: Finances → Day close → Signed days shows who signed and how many times a day was reopened, with the reason.
- Who has which permission, in Settings → My Team. Reopening a signed day and reopening an accounting month are special permissions: nobody has them until you or the administrator grant them, person by person.
- That months get closed: a closed month no longer changes without leaving a name and a reason.

The statements come from your hotel's books: if your group has several legal entities, each one has its own books, and today Containn does not consolidate them into a single statement. The direct-method cash flow statement is already calculated but does not have a screen in Estados financieros yet. Containn does not file tax returns: your accountant does.
