What it is
Every folio charge carries a category, which the system sets according to where the charge comes from: a restaurant check sent to the room arrives as Restaurant, with its revenue center; shortening a stay creates an Early departure charge; adding a guest, Extra guest. A charge entered by hand from the reservation arrives as Other charges.
The category is what takes each charge to its revenue account, in one of two ways. Through its concept: a concept that hooks onto that folio charge and is mapped to an account; this is the normal path. Through its role: if no concept picks it up, an account tagged with that category's role; Containn only uses this as a fallback.
The categories and their concept
The key is the value you see on screen (“Applies to: Folio charge · restaurant”) and the one you type to hook onto the category. Concept names appear as the proposal creates them, in Spanish.

Step by step: giving early departure an account
- With a concept (recommended). In Settings → Accounting concepts, inside the MISCELANEOS group, click New concept. Type your code and name (for example, 053 SALIDA ANTICIPADA); under What does it hook onto? pick “Folio charge”; under Matching value type early_departure, and save. Then map it in Conceptos y sus cuentas.
- With a role. Create or edit the revenue account (for example, 401-06 Salida anticipada) and type cargo:early_departure in Papel en la póliza (role).
The concept is better: the line shows up on the sheet with your code and counts toward mapped concepts. If both exist, the concept wins.
What can go wrong
- A category with no concept and no role leaves the day without a journal entry. See Concepts without an account.
- The tax is not split out. A folio charge reaches the sheet as a lump amount, with no tax breakdown, and the whole amount goes to the revenue account. If your accountant needs to separate the IVA (value added tax) on those charges, today they do it with a reclassifying manual journal entry.
- Other charges collects everything. Charges entered by hand from the reservation land there: your accountant decides whether that account needs reclassifying.
- Two concepts for the same category. The one with the charge's revenue center wins; if neither has it, only one gets the movements.
- Keys are typed letter for letter. In Matching value and in Papel en la póliza, a misspelled key hooks onto nothing.
