With Containn you do not receive an export or re-key the hotel's revenue: the póliza (Mexican journal entry) for each signed day is already in the books, balanced and carrying its SAT grouping code. Your job is judgment: the chart of accounts, the mapping, the adjustments and the close.
What you do in Containn
- You configure once the chart of accounts, the concepts and their accounts, and the taxes and their accounts. Add what the base chart does not include: equity, cost of sales, wages and withholdings payable, fixed assets, accumulated depreciation and depreciation expense.
- You review the day's póliza in Pólizas, month by month. Each line shows its account and description; lines that come from the sheet carry the hotel concept code.
- You enter what does not come from the day with Capturar póliza (enter a póliza): the opening entry, accruals, reclassifications and corrections. It is not saved until it balances, and a line carries a debit or a credit, never both.
- You record the back-office side: vendor invoices and payments, payroll calculated by your payroll provider, monthly depreciation and bank reconciliation, each with its póliza.
- You review and close. Balanza de comprobación (trial balance) tells you whether it balances, and one click on an account opens its ledger detail. Cierre de mes (month-end close) lists what blocks the close: the month has not ended, the previous month is still open, there are signed days without a póliza, or the pólizas do not balance.
- You file with the SAT (Mexico's tax authority). In Entrega al SAT you download the chart of accounts and the trial balance as Anexo 24 XML files (the SAT's electronic accounting rules), plus the pólizas when the SAT requests them. They come out unsealed: you sign them with the hotel's e.firma (its advanced electronic signature) and upload them through the Buzón Tributario, the SAT's online tax mailbox. The RFC (Mexican tax ID) is taken from Settings → CFDI Invoicing (SAT); without it, the files are not built.

The permissions you need
The owner or the administrator grants them in Settings → My Team, by turning on the Containn section. Note: the Contador (accountant) role template on that screen covers Finances, Cashier and guest records, but not Containn; those boxes are checked separately.
| Permission | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Ver la contabilidad (view accounting) | Pólizas, chart of accounts, accounts payable and banks. |
| Configurar el catálogo y el mapeo (configure chart and mapping) | Accounts, grouping codes, concepts and taxes. |
| Capturar facturas, pagos y bancos (enter invoices, payments and banks) | Manual pólizas, vendors, payroll, assets and reconciliation. |
| Cerrar el mes contable (close the accounting month) | Closing the month and the fiscal year. |
| Reabrir un mes contable cerrado (reopen a closed month) | Special permission: nobody has it until it is granted. It reopens months and fiscal years. |
Cierre de mes catches signed days without a póliza, but not days that have not been signed yet. A day signed after its month is closed is left without a póliza. Make sure the last day of the month is signed before closing it.
