What it means
A concept without an account is a line on the day's sheet with nowhere to go in the books. It can be a concept showing “Sin asignar” (unassigned) in Conceptos y sus cuentas (concepts and their accounts), or a folio charge whose category has no concept and no account of its own.
Containn never writes half a póliza (journal entry) and never guesses an account: if a single line of the signed day has no account, that day's journal entry is not generated. The day itself is still signed; what stays pending is its journal entry.
For example, a 40-room hotel signs day 12 with an early departure charge of 1,800.00 MXN and no concept for that category: the day is signed, has no journal entry, and shows up that way in the month-end close until it is resolved.
How you see it
- The yellow banner on Containn screens: “Falta para que el día firmado se convierta en póliza: mapear N concepto(s) a su cuenta” (to turn the signed day into a journal entry, map N concept(s) to their account).
- The Conceptos y sus cuentas card in Configuración: “X de Y mapeados” (X of Y mapped).
- In Cierre de mes (month-end close): “Hay N día(s) firmado(s) sin póliza” (N signed day(s) without a journal entry), with the dates. The month can't be closed while one is missing.
The banner counts concepts. A folio charge in a category with no concept (early departure is the typical case) doesn't show up there: you see it on the day's sheet, in the Night Audit Totals report, as a line with no code and a label such as “Cargo · early_departure”. Review the sheet before signing.
How to fix it
- Assign the account in Conceptos y sus cuentas, or create the concept or the account for the missing category (Folio charge categories).
- From then on, every day that gets signed generates its complete journal entry.
- A day already signed without a journal entry doesn't rebuild itself: the entry is created at signing. If it is the last signed day, someone with the special Reabrir un día cerrado (reopen a closed day) permission reopens it in Finances → Day close, writes the reason and signs it again; at signing, its journal entry is created. Reopening undoes the signature: the sheet is frozen again with whatever the day shows at that moment.
- If several days are affected, ask the support team for help: signed days can be posted without reopening them.
What can go wrong
- Roles are missing, not concepts. If the banner says “asignar el papel de…” (assign the role), the problem isn't the mapping: an account with that role is missing. See Account roles.
- Switching off a concept that still gets movements leaves them without a concept: the next signed day has no journal entry.
- An inactive account still counts as mapped. If a concept points to an account you deactivated, the banner doesn't flag it and the daily journal entry keeps using it: reassign the concept before deactivating the account.
- For the other reasons, see Why a journal entry is not generated.
