An accounting system that hides its limits makes you discover them in the middle of a close. These are Containn's limits today, each with what it does instead and why.
It does not seal or submit your electronic accounting
Containn generates the chart of accounts, the trial balance and the pólizas (journal entries) as unsealed XML under Anexo 24, the SAT annex for electronic accounting. Sealing and submitting require the hotel's e.firma (its advanced electronic signature with the SAT), and Containn does not ask for it: the hotel uses that signature for its filings with the SAT, and it should not live in a system the hotel does not control. Your accountant downloads the files, signs them and submits them through the Buzón Tributario, the SAT's electronic tax mailbox.
It does not file tax returns
Containn keeps the books, posts each tax to its own account and gives you the trial balance and the financial statements. Your accountant prepares and files the returns with that information.
It does not calculate or stamp payroll
In Payroll you record the period totals your payroll provider or system already calculated: earnings, deductions and net pay, with their póliza and their payment. It does not compute income tax (ISR) or IMSS and INFONAVIT contributions (social security and housing fund), and it does not stamp payroll receipts.
It does not read supplier XML yet
Supplier invoices are entered in Accounts payable: supplier, folio, folio fiscal (UUID), date, credit days, description, subtotal and taxes. Automatic reading of received invoices is on the roadmap.
It does not connect directly to your bank
In Banks and reconciliation you paste the statement lines (date, description and amount) and Containn suggests, by amount and date, which recorded entry each one might match. You confirm. There is no automatic bank feed.
It does not consolidate a group yet
Books, trial balance and financial statements are produced per hotel. Group consolidation across several legal entities, with intercompany eliminations, is under construction and is not presented as a current feature.
What is missing in SAT filing and invoicing
- The complementary trial balance, the year-end adjusted trial balance and the XML ledgers are not generated yet.
- You cannot yet invoice the generic RFC for the general public, or invoice in a currency other than the Mexican peso.
- The payment receipt for invoices on credit is calculated and recorded, but not stamped yet. See Payment complement.
